Flying in our de Havilland Turbine Otter is an experience in itself. Built for the Alaskan wilderness, this aircraft offers both capability and comfort — allowing guests to access places few will ever reach. Seating up to 10 guests, each journey departs directly from Judd Lake, just steps from the lodge.
From this remote basecamp, guests unlock access to three of Alaska's most remarkable national parks — each offering a completely different perspective of the wild. World-class fishing opportunities are also available on the many rivers and lakes within each park.
An Extraordinary Bear Viewing Experience
Few wildlife encounters compare to witnessing Alaska's coastal brown bears in their natural habitat. From the salmon-rich rivers of Katmai to the remote coastlines and valleys of Lake Clark, guests have the opportunity to observe bears up close — feeding, fishing, and moving through landscapes untouched by crowds.
This is not a standard tour. It's a privately guided experience designed around access, timing, and the freedom to explore beyond fixed itineraries.
Three National Parks — One Basecamp
Each park offers a completely different perspective of Alaska's wild. Your home base remains the luxury comfort of Tordrillo Mountain Lodge.
Katmai National Park
Wake early at the lodge, enjoy breakfast, and step onto the Otter waiting at the dock. Fly over the dramatic volcanoes of Spurr, Redoubt, and Iliamna to reach Katmai. Spend the day watching bears feast on salmon along the coast, visit Brooks Falls, or land on a remote volcanic lake.
Denali National Park
Depart north from the lodge and follow the spine of the Alaska Range into one of the most dramatic alpine landscapes in North America. Fly into the Kichatna Spires — towering granite walls rising thousands of feet straight out of glaciers. Continue across the Yetna and Kahiltna Glaciers, with views of Denali's climbing routes and basecamp.
Lake Clark National Park
Just 15 minutes from the lodge lies one of the most remote and least visited national parks in the country. Fly over Mount Spurr and peer into the caldera of the 11,000-foot volcano before descending into Chakachamna Lake. Continue through remote valleys searching for bears, moose, and Dall sheep, before arriving at the impossibly blue Telaquana Lake.
