After descending 7,000-foot runs or climbing 900 feet of glacier face, the Tordrillo Wellness Center is waiting. The architect-designed 2,400 square foot timber facility houses full treatment rooms, a movement studio, and a dedicated lounge — all with windows framing Judd Lake and the Alaska Range.
The recovery protocol at Tordrillo draws from Nordic tradition: heat, cold water immersion, and rest. The sauna cycle followed by Judd Lake cold plunge followed by complete stillness — repeated until the body has fully processed the day.

Copper hot tub on the main lodge deck, positioned on the water's edge with views of the Alaska Range. Available morning and evening.
The World's First Mobile Heli-Positioned Sauna.
The AlpenSauna is a purpose-built mobile sauna structure repositioned by helicopter onto remote mountain peaks and glacier locations throughout the Tordrillo Range.
Guests ski or hike to the AlpenSauna position, enter the cedar-lined structure, and experience 200°F heat at 5,000+ feet elevation — then step outside into the open mountain environment. The experience combines thermal recovery with unfiltered alpine immersion.
Designed Around the Way Athletes Actually Recover.
After high-output days in the mountains or rivers, the body requires deliberate recovery — not just rest. The TML approach combines Scandinavian thermal cycling (heat/cold), soft tissue work, and neural recovery to prepare guests for the demands of consecutive expedition days.
The Shiftwave system is available in the treatment room — an advanced nervous system recovery experience delivered in a zero-gravity recliner, using gentle vibration and guided breath patterns to ease the body into deep parasympathetic calm after high-output expedition days.
